William V. “Bill” McGlothlin, age 66, passed away on December 21, 2011 at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire WI. He was born May 20, 1945 in Bloomer to Harry and Laura (Onsager) McGlothlin. He married Mary LaGesse on July 27, 1974 in Bloomer. Bill served his country during the Viet Nam War. He was a self-employed carpenter for most of his life and a member of the Bloomer American Legion, the Carpenter’s Union and the Bloomer United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, target shooting, helping at the Food Pantry and walking the dogs. With Bill, family always came first and he loved spending time with them.
He is survived by his wife: Mary of Bloomer; two daughters: Beth (Brian Kempen) McGlothlin of Chippewa Falls and Dawn Moullet of Eagan MN; one brother: Allan (Izabele) McGlothlin of Batavia IL; one sister: Dorothy McGlothlin of Cornell; special canine companions: Zoey and Maddee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother: Richard; one sister: Sharon.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Bloomer. Interment will be in the Bloomer Cemetery with military graveside rites performed by the Bloomer VFW and American Legion. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 on Monday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
