Walter B. Sugars

Walter B. Sugars, age 72, passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire. He was born June 3, 1941 in Illinois. He married Hedwig “Hedy” Rudolf on September 15, 1962 in Chicago. Walter and Hedy owned and operated Smiley’s Pizza Place in Bloomer for 13 years. During that time, they belonged to the Bloomer Chamber of Commerce and were big supporters of many Bloomer Community projects. Walter loved to help people, enjoyed living in the Mallard Resort area and spending time with his numerous friends.

He is survived by numerous friends and preceded in death by his parents and his wife: Hedy.

A sharing of memories and funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with David W. Olson officiating. Spring interment will be in the Eagleton Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
