Victoria Ann Harstad DuBois, age 81, passed away at Care Partners in Bloomer on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. She was born on August 19, 1936 to Robert and Goldie (Yule) Harstad. At nine years old, she asked for and received a baby sister, named her Linda Jo and loved her every day of her life. The four Harstads were a very happy family.
Vicki married John DuBois and together they raised 3 daughters, first in Madison while John got his PhD in electrical engineering and then in Edina MN. Victoria was an accomplished oil painter and loved to create and build things. She and John spent as much time as possible at their beloved cabin in rural New Auburn. They enjoyed birdwatching and gardening. Vicki was adored by her family and loved being with them. She was warm, welcoming and never judgmental. She made everyone feel like the most important person in the world and was always interested in hearing about other peoples' lives, especially her loved ones.
Vicki is survived by her daughters: Debbie (Rick) Adair of Edina MN, Jan (Art) Kunstmann of New Auburn, Jodi (Tom) King, of New Auburn, her precious sister: Linda (Michael) Bridges of Eau Claire; grandchildren: Beth Victoria and David Adair, Aaron (Ashley) Kunstmann, Jonathan Kunstmann, Brian and Katie King, and greatgranddaughter, Bella Victoria Kunstmann. Also survived by niece Michele Bridges (Greg) Crooker, nephew Mark (Becky) Bridges and sister-in-law Mary (Bruce) Moody and their children John, Angie, Mike, Mary Ellen and Steven Moody.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Robert and Goldie, her husband John, and significant other, Charles Grimm.
A visitation will be held on November 11, 2017 from 3:00-5:00 PM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.
