Verna E. Klemish

Verna E. Klemish passed away on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at the age of 105, at Dove Healthcare in Bloomer. 

Verna was born on February 23, 1919, to Herman and Marie (Meindel) Fehr in Chippewa County. She married Vernon Klemish on June 2, 1943, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer. Verna worked as a teacher at many one room country schools, Mile Corner School and St. Paul’s Catholic School, all while helping Vernon on the family farm. She was a founding member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church in New Auburn. Verna was a very driven and a hard-working woman. She was a member of two card clubs that got together for over 25 years. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, canning, picking berries, embroidering, doing word search puzzles and spending time with her family and friends. 

Verna is survived by her children: Luanne (Bruce) Winget of Colfax and Randy (Dixie) Klemish of New Auburn; 5 grandchildren: Jason (Barb) Winget and Kristina (Jeremy) Nelson, Vanessa Klemish (Jared Siverling), Jaimie Klemish and Joseph (Trista) Klemish; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Vernon in 1983; infant daughter: Marilyn Klemish; siblings: Ardis Petchow, Deloris Rediger, Lucille Prince and Ivan and Oliver Fehr. 

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM, on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with Father Victor Feltes officiating. There will be a visitation starting at 12:30 PM on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the North Catholic Cemetery in Bloomer.
