Theresa M. Klingenberg, age 59, passed away at her home on Friday, June 23, 2023, following a brave battle with cancer. She was born May 19, 1964 in Waterloo IA to Arthur and Karen (Turner) Klingenberg. She married Tim Rask on May 14, 2011. Theresa earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa and worked as a social worker, was a mentor for the homeless, did crisis intervention and family counseling. She was on the Board of Bike Chippewa Valley and was the secretary/treasurer for Turner Cemetery. She was an environmental advocate an animal lover and an avid bicyclist. She played the cello and excelled at baking, cooking, knitting, sewing and gardening.
She is survived by her father: Art Klingenberg of New Auburn; husband: Tim Rask of Eau Claire; siblings: Katrina (Rob) Klingenberg of Waterloo IA, Christopher (Jeralyn) Klingenberg of Lincoln NE and Nicole Klingenberg of New Auburn WI; in-laws: Clifford and Carol Rask of Albert Lea MN; sister-in-law: Karen (David) Behling of Chippewa Falls; numerous nieces, nephews, foster siblings, foreign exchange students other extended family members and countlessfriends.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Karen.
A Time of Remembrance for people to share stories, music and poems about Theresa will be held on July 1, 2023 at 4:30 PM at the White Pine Pavilion (9832 County Hwy SS, Bloomer), so guests are encouraged to bring with them what they would like to share. The visitation will be held from 3:00 – 6:00 PM at the White Pine. A private green burial will be held at the Turner Cemetery. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family.
