Tammy Jo Thompson

Tammy Jo Thompson, age 65, passed away on April 26, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Tammy was born on December 25, 1957 in Chippewa Falls to Clifford and Joyce (Powers) Elwood. On November 8, 1974, Tammy married Lester Thompson at the United Methodist Church in Bloomer. She owned her own business cleaning homes and also worked in the housekeeping department at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Eau Claire for 10 years. Tammy enjoyed horseback riding, going to thrift sales, sitting on the porch, quilting, crafting and spending time with her family.

Tammy is survived by her husband of 48 years, Lester; children: James (Jennifer) Thompson of Bloomer, Jerry (Sandra) Thompson of Rice Lake, Jesse (Kayla) Thompson of Lake Wissota and Amie (Justin) Tietz of Rice Lake; 14 grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren; siblings: Neil Elwood, Tony Elwood and Genevie (Greg) Brion; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Clifford and Joyce Elwood.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday. May 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the White Pine Pavilion on County Hwy SS in Bloomer followed by a celebration of life and lunch until 2:00.
