Sylvan "Stretch" Meinen

Sylvan “Stretch” L. Meinen, age 74, passed away suddenly on Monday, February 21, 2011. He was born on August 10, 1936 in Chippewa County to Gregor and Elsie (Eder) Meinen. He married Victoria Winget August 31, 1957 in Sand Creek Wisconsin. Stretch was a truck driver owning his own trucks and driving for several different companies including Falls Dairy and most recently KJF Trucking. He enjoyed camping, riding four-wheeler, shaking dice with his friends at Cece’s Cafe, tinkering in his garage and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife: Vickie of Sand Creek, three daughters: Gloria (Bill) Berg, of Sand Creek, Rita (Doug) McFarlane of Chetek, and Pamela Meinen of Woodville; three sisters: Jean (Earl) Sykora, Marion Schroetter, Geri Schuster, five grandchildren: Deb and Derrick Berg, Travis (Jessica) McFarlane, Rachel McFarlane, and Holly Meinen

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Annette Davis

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Faith Lutheran Church of Running Valley at 1:00 PM. Interment will be at Zion Cemetery in Sand Creek. A visitation will be held at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer on Friday, February 25, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
