Ronald D. Handy, age 78, passed away Friday, May 15, 2009 at Luther Midelfort, Chippewa Valley in Bloomer. He was born February 4, 1931 in Valley Junction, Wisconsin, to Floyd & Fern (Thompson) Handy. He married Mary Lou Sell on August 15, 1953 in Dubuque, Iowa. He served in the army during the Korean War. In 1984 he started Handy Enterprise, a flat bed trucking company out of Warrens, Wisconsin. In 1997, he sold the business and moved to Sand Creek with his wife, Mary Lou. He enjoyed hunting, traveling and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife: Mary Lou of Sand Creek; three daughters: Stacey (Dennis) Rezin of Oakdale WI, Michelle (Roger) Stanford of Waterford WI & Susan (Todd) Schweitzer of Mukwonago WI; four sisters: Margaret (Lee) Gosiniack of Milwaukee, Carol Schmig of Lehman PA, Juanita Wenninger of Levenworth KS & Linda Higsby of Baraboo WI; three brothers: Dean (Helen) Handy, Richard “Buzz” (Donna) Handy & Russell (Linda) Handy all of Tomah; four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: Fred Handy
A private memorial service will be held at a later date with burial of cremains will at Oak Grove Cemetery in Tomah.
