Robert Rediger

Robert Rediger, age 81, passed from this life to be with his Lord and Savior on February 22, 2013 at The Maple Wood in Bloomer. He was born near Sand Creek on October 8, 1931 to George and Amanda (Berg) Rediger. He graduated from Colfax High School in 1949 and served in the US Army from October of 1954 to October of 1956. He was united in Marriage to Fern Paulus on May 24, 1958 at Holden Lutheran Church in Colfax WI. Bob was the owner and operator of Bloomer Tire Center and was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council. He served on the Board of Directors of the Bloomer Community Memorial Hospital from January of 1981 to January of 1994. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, working with stained glass and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife: Fern of Bloomer; three children: Arlyn (Linda) Rediger, Kevin (Verlene) Rediger and Sandy (Jody) Schmidt all of Bloomer; two brothers: Arnie (Pat) Rediger and Mervin (Carol) Rediger; three sisters: Velna Oldenberg, Delores Pauling and Mavis (Jerome) Steinmetz; one sister-in-law: Marion (Jim) Zwiefelhofer; one brother-in-law: Glen (Pam) Paulus; fiver grandchildren: Brook and Nate Loewen, Brigitte Rediger, Joshua and Michael Rediger; numerous other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents: George and Amanda Rediger; one brother: Delbert Rediger; inlaws: Leon and Leona Paulus; three brothers-in-law: Leonard Oldenberg, Harry Pauling and Sherman Cutting; three sisters-in-law: Delores Rediger, Marion Rediger and Ellen Cutting.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bloomer with Rev. James Strand officiating. Interment will be in the Bloomer Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 on Monday evening at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
