Raymond Marek

Raymond F. Marek, age79, passed away Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at The Maple Wood in Bloomer. He was born August 12, 1930 in Chippewa County to Frank & Catherine (Kunesh) Marek. He married Donna Javner on July1, 1961 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. He worked as a butcher for Reetz & Boese in Bloomer for many years. He enjoyed all sports, especially watching local sports, the Packers and the Brewers. He had a great sense of humor, liked being outdoors, taking walks and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife: Donna of Hayward; two sons: Norman (finacee: Lynda) Marek of Bloomer & Mike Marek of Bloomer; two daughters: Raylene Anderson of Amery and Donna Marek of Bloomer; one brother: Roman (Eleanor) Marek of Beaver Dam, one step brother: Gilbert Downey of Bloomer; 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Donald, Frank, Herbert, Jerome and Joseph; sisters: Florence Hartman, Ann Meeth, Min Lothian, Irene Engel, Alvina Young, Doris Haverly & Angeline Firkus; step-sister: Marie Jahns; Step brother: Robert Downey.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 2, 2010 at 7:00 PM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with David W. Olson officiating. Interment will be in the Bloomer City Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 PM until the time of service on Monday at the Olson Funeral Home.
