Ramona North

Ramona North, age 88, went to be with her Lord and savior on Sunday August 11, 2019. She was born on January 13, 1931 to Lester and Wealthy (Peterson) Rands. She married Norris “Ike” North on May 4, 1950 in Rapid City SD. Ramona was a domestic engineer, raising 5 children and taking care of her husband. Ramona was always on the go and loved sitting down and talking with family and friends. She was known as Grandma North to many of the New Auburn Trojan faithful as she rarely missed a sporting or school event. She enjoyed dancing, traveling, baking banana bread, playing cards, a good meal and talking on the phone. She volunteered at the school, was active in the FFA and at Freedom Community Church. She will truly be missed by her family, the town of New Auburn and her two furry four-legged friends.

She is survived by her children: Michael (Pamela) North of New Auburn, Judy Rogge of New Auburn, Jackie (Steve) McCracken of New Auburn, Debbye (Dieter) Antoni of Holmen and Wayne (Kristine) North of New Auburn; 15 grandchildren; sister: Roberta Channing; sisters in-law: Janice Rands and Lois North; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Lester and Wealthy; husband: Ike; siblings: Linda Rands, Iona Black, Robert “Bud” Rands and Lester Rands Jr.; son-in-law Wayne Rogge.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019 at 6:00 PM at St. Jude’s Church in New Auburn with Pastor Steve Hinton officiating. Private Interment will be in the New Auburn Cemetery. A visitation will be from 3:00-6:00PM at the church on Friday before the service. A Luncheon will follow the service at the church. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family.
