Quentin J. Zinsmaster, age 70, passed away at St. Mary’s in Rochester on Thursday, May 12, 2011. He was born on August 16, 1940 to Quentin Sr. and Alma (Nelson) Zinsmaster in La Crosse WI. He married the love of his life Alice Lund on September 2, 1978 in Chetek. Quentin was an award winning Photographer. He was the owner of Zinsmaster Studios, photographing many weddings and local events for hundreds of Bloomer residents over the years. After selling the studio he worked at Perfection Distributing, traveling around the Midwest. He never thought of his job as work. He told Alice he just loved visiting with people and he considered his customers as friends. When he retired he kept busy working at Carquest in Bloomer. Quentin was very active in Ducks Unlimited serving as president of the local chapter for many years. He also was a member of The Moose, Elks, Whitetails Unlimited, St. John’s Lutheran Church, The Wisconsin Photography Association, and a Boy Scout Troop Leader. He was a master of all trades, whether it be repairing a car or all his custom framing and woodwork, Quentin could do it all. Besides spending time with his family, Quentin was happiest in his duck blind or his deer stand. He taught his children and grandchildren not only to hunt, but to respect the outdoors that he loved so much. He loved going to the cabin, which he built with his sons, to hunt, fish and just relax in the great outdoors.
