Paul Gene "Smitty" Smith

Paul Gene “Smitty” Smith, age 82, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2019 at MCHS Bloomer Hospital. He was born January 24, 1937 in Greenville PA to Lawrence and Frances (Finch) Smith. He married Valerie Camis on February 27, 1960 in Illinois. Paul served his country in the Airforce and worked as a truck driver for T. H. Ryan Trucking. He was a huge Cubs, Bears and Packer fan and thought there was nothing better than sitting by the campfire, in front of the lake, with a cold beer.
He is survived by his daughters: Frances (Anthony) Francis of New Auburn, Sandra (Brad) Carder of New Auburn, Jeanne Shogren of Columbus WI and Diane Joyce Smith of Los Angeles CA; brothers: Ron and Larry Smith; grandchildren: Val, Jimmy, Christopher, Brandon, Nick, Eddie, Sabrina, Erica, Veronica, and Joey; 8 great-grandchildren; beloved dog: Lazer.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Lawrence and Frances Smith; his wife: Valerie.
A memorial services will be held at a later date. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family.
