Paul E. Lane, age 82, passed away at Mayo Clinic in Bloomer on Thursday, February 11, 2021. He was born on April 29, 1938 in Bloomer to Raymond and Lenora (Meier) Lane. Paul married Frances Grassini on November 23, 1977. He proudly served is country in the US Army during the war in Korea. He worked as a tool and die maker and machinist for Rexnord in Illinois until he retired in 1997 and they moved back to Bloomer. Paul was collector of gas engines and guns. In his free time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, telling stories and spending time with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife: Frances; step-sons: Louis Clark and Russel (Vonnie) Deckert; sisters: Alice Lane and Ruth Hilger; three step-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Ray and Lenora; brothers: Robert, Jim Lane, and one infant brother
There will be a visitation from 3:00-5:00 PM on Friday, February 19, 2021 at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. Due to current restrictions private services will be held at 5:00 PM. Military honors will be performed by the Bloomer American Legion and VFW. Please follow CDC guidelines.
