Obituary for Norman A. Waterhouse

Norman A. Waterhouse, age 84, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Mayo Clinic Health System, Chippewa Valley surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Easter Sunday, April 24, 1927 at his home in Chippewa County to John William & Louise Ella (Dreger) Waterhouse. He married Thelma Smith on May 26, 1951 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sand Creek. Norman loved working as a dairy farmer. He was a 4-H leader and served on the Town of Sand Creek board. He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Sand Creek and New Hope Lutheran Church in Sand Creek, serving on the New Hope Church Council. He was a Brewer, Packer and Badger fan, enjoyed hunting, fishing, attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, listening to old time country music and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife: Thelma of New Auburn; three sons: Allen (Bev) Waterhouse, Randall (Renee) Waterhouse and Dale (Cheri) Waterhouse, all of New Auburn; one daughter: Norma Waterhouse of Lino Lakes MN; one brother: John (Ella) Waterhouse of Chetek; two sisters: Charlotte Mutch of Bloomington MN and Anita (Norm) Chase of Lake Itaska MN; seven grandchildren: Miranda (Scott) Jerdee, Gretchen (Lance) Liddell, Shannon Waterhouse, Cassandra (Jordan) Graesser, Denise Waterhouse, Jennifer (Andrew) Habeck and Nathan (Heather) Waterhouse; eight great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Leona Pagenkopf, Delilah Cramblit and Lorraine Bergmeier; one brother: Herbert Waterhouse; one grandson: Jason Daniels; two godsons: Brad Smith and Daniel Chase.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 11:00 AM at New Hope Lutheran Church with Pastor Barb Koch officiating. Burial of ashes will be in Our Savior’s Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday at the church. There will be no visitation Friday evening. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is in charge of arrangements.
