Mona B. Marquardt, age 96, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Hetzel Care Center in Bloomer. She was born May 18, 1917 in New Richmond to Roy and Leah (Beresford) Veum. She married Herbert Marquardt on June 20, 1937 in Bloomer. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading, crocheting and spending time with her family.
She is survived by two sons: Lynn Marquardt of Bloomer and Donald (Carol) Marquardt of Stanley; four sisters: Annie Corrick of Bloomer, Lelah Veum of Bloomer, Alice Bauer of Bloomer and Donna (Ted) Iverson of Chippewa Falls; six grandchildren: Cindy (Blair) Butters of Madison, Terri Marquardt of Stanley, Brenda (David) Houck Lakeville MN, Marcie Marquardt of Cottage Grove WI, Deborah (Kyle) Kuranz of Madison and Jeffrey (Nicole) Marquardt of Eau Claire; great-grandchildren: Erik and Brittney Houck, Natalie and John Kuranz, Mason and Owen Marquardt.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Roy and Leah; her husband: Herbert; three brothers: James, Wallace and Robert Veum; daughter-in-law: Sandra Marquardt; brothers-in-law: Alfred Bauer, Ray Corrick, Leon Marquardt, Eldon Krenz, Edward Halliburton; sisters-in-law: Leona Krenz, Irma Marquardt, Evelyn Halliburton, Pauline Veum, Esther Veum and Florence Marquardt.
