Martha M. Hell, age 90, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2020 at Just Like Home In Chetek. She was born April 21, 1929 in Mt. Carmel ND to John H. and Lavina M. (Herrgolt) Illerbrunn. She married Gerald L. Hell on October 15, 1949 in Mt. Carmel. She and her husband farmed in rural New Auburn for many years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning and gardening (especially her strawberry patch). She graciously welcomed people into her home, whether it was on the holidays or just for a friendly visit...the coffee pot was always on! She was a patient, giving and fun loving mother and grandmother, who loved spending time with her family and will be missed by those who knew her.
She is survived by her one son: Doug (Sheree) Hell of New Auburn; four daughters: Sharon Lotts of Bloomer, Joann (Mike) Shipman of Bloomer, Sandy (Ron Hanson) Hell of New Auburn & Lisa Hell of St. Paul MN; ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren, and the first great-great-grandchild due in February.
She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Lavina (Herrgott) Illerbrunn; her husband: Gerald; one infant son: Little Dougie; son-in-law: David Lotts; siblings: Francis, Steve, Margaret, Florence, Caroline and Jane.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, January 24, 2020 at 11:00 AM at St. Jude’s Catholic Church in New Auburn with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the North Catholic Cemetery in Bloomer.
