Marion I. Stangel, age 91, passed away at Mayo Clinic Health System in Bloomer on Sunday, March 3, 2013. She was born on October 2, 1921 in Bloomer to Ernest and Mildred (Chevrier) Schroetter. She married Walter Stangel on December 28, 1942 in Junction City KS. She was a woman who spoke her mind and knew what she wanted. In her free time she enjoyed, knitting, crocheting, quilting, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by three sons: Dan (Nancy) Stangel of Elk Mound, Mike Stangel of Eau Claire, and Kenneth (Patti) Stangel of Eau Claire; three daughters: Ione (Don) Knight of Manassas VA, Patricia Stangel of Colfax, Cindy (Dan) Mattison of Elk Mound; one brother: Elton (JoAnn) Schroetter of Fredericksburg, VA; numerous grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Ernest and Mildred Schroetter; husband: Walter; brothers: Clarence, Paul, Eugene, Earl, and Kenneth Schroetter; sister: Hilda Rufledt; grandchildren: Jeremy, Angela, and Emily
There will be private family service at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer.
