Marian Hansen

Marian A. Hansen, age 84, passed away at Luther Hospital on Saturday December 18, 2010. She was born on May 28, 1926 to Bruno and Veronica (Czerwonka) Jaworski in Wisconsin. She married Milton Hansen on July 19, 1947 in Chetek. After they were married, they moved down to North Dakota where Marian was in charge of the kitchen which fed over 25 wheat harvesters every day, including her husband. When they moved back to the area, she worked as an accountant at The Farmer Store, but spent most of her life working on the farm with her family. Her memberships include the Order of the Eastern Star, the Chetek Senior Citizens, and the Bloomer Baptist Church. She was a wonderful gardener and was growing flowers this spring for the wedding of her granddaughter, Britney. Marian loved to polka, waltz, and schottische and frequented any local establishment who had a dance going on. She liked watching birds and loved to cook, can and bake. It is said that she had the best doughnuts and pies around. She loved to play the card game, 500, and still regularly got together with classmates from the New Auburn High School class of 1944. Spending time with her friends, family, and grandchildren is was what she treasured the most

She is survived by three daughters: Jean (Gerald) Holter of New Auburn, Carol (Steven) Davies of Marlboro MA and Mary (Warren) Mikula of Chetek; one sister: Adela Leland of Eau Claire; one brother-in-law: Curt (Janet) Hansen of Durand IL; two sisters-in-law: Phyllis Lau Letta of Sun City AZ and Raynelda Jaworski of New Auburn; six grandchildren: Jeff (Maria) Tripp, Kayla Holter, Caroline (Ken) Paetzold, Thomas Davies, Brian (Sara Kruschke) Mikula and Britney (fiancé Aaron Anderson) Mikula; one great-grandchild: Marian Tripp

She is preceded in death by her husband Milton, one brother: Stanley Jaworski

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 11:00 AM at the Bloomer Baptist Church with Rev. Eldon Carlson officiating. Interment will take place at the New Auburn Cemetery following the service. A visitation will be held at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 from 4:00 PM-7:00 PM and one hour prior to the service at the church.
