Louis G. Rihn, age 90, passed away at Dove Lake Wissota Health in Chippewa Falls on Monday, October 09, 2017. He was born on February 1, 1927 in Chippewa County to Fred and Margaret (Wirth) Rihn. He married Eileen Weiner on June 5, 1948 at St. John’s Lutheran Church Parsonage. He served in the US Navy during WWII. He was a truck driver for 26 years working for Berg-Babbitt Brothers and Chippewa Motor Freight. He and Eileen also owned and operated the Sears Catalog Store in Bloomer for over 10 years. He loved living on the lake and enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife: Eileen of Chippewa Falls; children: Rhonda (Kenneth) Hinke of Bloomer, Terri (Special Friend: John Miles) Toler of Chippewa Falls, Joel (Special Friend: Janis Christensen) Rihn of Chippewa Falls, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. brothers: Richard Rihn of Bloomer, Wallace (Joyce) Rihn of Bloomer; sister: Marlene (Arnold) Windsor of Bloomer; in-laws: Bud Tozer and Angeline Rihn both of Bloomer.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Fred and Margaret; siblings: Marie Tozer and Herman Rihn; sister in law: Deloris Rihn; infant son: James
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Thursday at the Funeral Home. Military Honors will be performed by the Bloomer American Legion and VFW.
