Lorraine A. Nyhagen, age 94, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Knapp Haven Nursing Home in Chetek. She was born March 6, 1918 in New Auburn to Louis & Mabel (Skaw) Hoefert. She married Clifford Nyhagen on March 2, 1938 in New Auburn. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Chetek and a former member of the Sons of Norway. She enjoyed knitting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lorraine is survived by two sons: Allen (Linda) Nyhagen of New Auburn and Terry (Vicki) Nyhagen of Brimson MN; three daughters: Cherie Pooler of Oshkosh WI, Cynthia (John) Bitney of New Auburn and Judith (Eugene) Gravunder of Pine River WI; two sisters: Lucille Lueck of Bloomer and Betty Steenberg of Chicago; one brother: Donald Hoefert; one half-sister: Kay (Terry) Bitney; 21 grandchildren numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Clifford; one son: Dale Nyhagen; one brother: Virgil “Bud” Hoefert; one son-in-law: David Pooler.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Christ Lutheran Church in Chetek. Interment will be in the New Auburn Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 – 8:00 Tuesday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
