Loretta E. Vahlenkamp, age 99, died Friday, March 9, 2012 at the Hetzel Care Center in Bloomer. She was born April 17, 1912 to Peter and Ella (Albrecht) Hilger in Bloomer, Wisconsin. Loretta married Herman “Harry” Vahlenkamp on June 21, 1933. They farmed all of their married life of 65 years. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and ladies aid of Eagleton Wisconsin. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and enjoyed her family and friends. Her determination was to be positive and to enjoy life. Her favorite activities were her garden, her flower beds, sewing and reading. She appreciated the beauty around her and will be greatly missed by her family, her friends and by “Angel” and “Muffin.”
She is survived by one son: Hebert (Carol) Vahlenkamp, one daughter: Darlene (Pete) Henneman, two sisters: Jeanetta Robertson and Eileen Hilger, Six grandchildren, Mike (Peggy), Ronnie (DeeAnn) and Larry Vahlenkamp, Tammy (Henry) LeBakken, Duane (Teri) Hennemen, David (Kelly) Henneman, great grandchildren, Jason, Vincent, Marissa, Vanessa, Preston Vahlenkamp, Jocelyn (Tim) Larson, Nicole (Derrick) Steinmetz, MiKayla, Isabel LeBakken, Riley, Claire, Madison, Cole Henneman: sister-in-law: Ruth Hilger, four great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband Harry on March 18, 1998; brothers: Edwin, Elton, Alvin, Richard, Robert, and Harry Hilger; sisters-in-law: Lucille, Viola, Thelma, and Lorraine.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 11:30 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eagleton. There will be a visitation from 5:00-8:00 PM on Monday March 12, 2012 at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place at the Eagleton Cemetery following there service.
