Leon Parkhurst

Leon M. Parkhurst, age 73, passed away at his home Sunday, February 10, 2013. He was born June 12, 1939 in the town of Cleveland to Jesse Parkhurst and Louise (Gorton) Parkhurst. Married April 18, 1957 to Jean Hayes, Leon worked as a heavy equipment operator and a truck driver. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends, especially attending family functions and reunions.

He is survived by Jean Parkhurst; three sons: Leon Wm (a.k.a. Bill), Robert (Barbara) and Richard (Jennifer); one daughter Marijean (Randy) Sippy; four brothers: George (Darlene), Allen (Rena), Charles (Pam) and Thomas (Jennifer); three sisters: Bonnie (Kirby) Colbenson, Kathryn Parkhurst and Alice Seig; sister-in-law: Linda Parkhurst; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Jesse and Louise; brother: Jesse; sister: Patsy Randall; twin sisters: Barbara and Beverly; grandson: Joshua Ford.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. There will be a visitation on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home. Interment will take place at the Cleveland Cemetery.
