Kayla J. Cole, age 39, passed away unexpectedly at MCHS in Bloomer on Monday, September 12, 2022. She was born to Gerald Eder and Ruth (Wallsch) Hill on March 10, 1983. After graduating from Colfax High School in 2001 she moved out west for a few years. Upon returning she managed, cooked and bartended at Albertville Tavern for over 15 years. In 2015 she married Dan Cole, they later divorced. Kayla had started going back to school to be an industrial maintenance tech at CVTC. She enjoyed traveling, gambling, hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, snowmobiling and sitting around the campfire with family and friends. Kayla was a loving and caring person who always put others first. She was an amazing sister and aunt who loved her family with all her heart.
She is survived by her parents: Gerald Eder of Colfax, Ruth (Don) Hill of Colfax; boyfriend: Thomas Shortess; siblings: Scott (Melissa) Johnson, Sandy Hughes, Paula (Beau) Eder; nieces and nephews: Nicole, Brandon, Joey, Sadie, Zayden, Kaylee, Justice, Willow and Weston; aunts and uncles: Nancy (Dale) Kruger, Duane (Debra) Wallsch; Dennis “Butch” Eder, Bob (Janie) Eder, Mary (Greg) Ganz, Linda Skoug, Ethel Eder, Mary Eder-Kreye; numerous cousins other relatives and friends
She is preceded in death by: maternal grandparents: Harlen and Betty Wallsch; paternal grandparents: Harry and Frances Eder; aunts and uncles: David Eder, Joe Eder Karen Ahlquist.
A visitation will be held from 11:00-2:00 PM on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. Following the funeral service, please join the family at the Valley Tavern for a reception and celebration of Kayla's life.
