Kathleen "Cathee" Slade (Davis)

Kathleen “Cathee” Slade (nee Davis), cherished matriarch and wife, passed away peacefully at home on March 19, 2022 at the age of 72.

Cathee was born on October 17, 1949 in Kenosha, WI to John and Irene (Peterson) Davis. She enjoyed a simple childhood in the country with her brother and sisters before having children of her own in the late 1960’s. She raised her two sons, Clark and Troy, as a single mother and helped to raise several of her grandchildren. On October 29, 2002 she married Jim Slade, husband of 19 years, in a Las Vegas drive-thru.

Cathee or “Mumma” or “Grammie” was a God-fearing woman with a deeply ingrained faith that she shared with her many relatives, whether or not they wanted her to. She was a spring chicken all her life, marvelously talented at everything she did from quilting to painting to doll making. She brightened the lives of everyone around her with her sass and silly sense of humor.

Cathee is survived, and missed dearly, by her loving husband: Jim; sons: Rick, Clark, and Troy; siblings: Lorrie, Jack, and Jill; especially devoted grandchildren: Ashly “Pippi,” Montanna, and Anson; She is also survived by several more grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews, her newest great grandchild: Patience and a whole coop-full of chickens.

She is reunited with her mother: Irene; father: John; and beloved Chinese Crested dog: Ning.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2022 at 11:00 AM with a visitation from 9:30 until the time of service at Crossroads Baptist Church, located at 209 South Ave in Chippewa Falls.
