Kathleen Brodersen

Kathleen M. Brodersen age 71, passed away peacefully at her home in Chetek Friday, February 10, 2012. She was born on May 7, 1940 in Tacoma WA to Stanley and Vivian (Furman) Rathert. Kathleen married Eugene “Carsten” Brodersen on June 18, 1958 in Arlington, WA. Kathleen was a loving mother and dedicated wife and farm gal. She loved spending time with the animals and took great pride in caring for the calves, winning several awards for her efforts. In her free time, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, sewing and doing needlework. She especially liked going for long rides in the ol’ Mack truck and accompanying Carsten to truck shows and state fairs. She rode with Carsten in their grain truck right up to the last few days of her life. She will be greatly missed by her family and her dear friends in the congregation.

She is survived by her husband: Carsten of Chetek; children: Jeffery Brodersen and Tammy (Glenn Chapple) Brodersen both of Seattle; brother: Michael (Margaret) Rathert of Arlington WA, numerous other family members and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Stanley and Vivian.

A memorial service for Kathleen will be held at the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall in New Auburn on Saturday February 18, 2012 at 2:00 PM. with a luncheon to follow at the Chetek Senior Center located at 711 First Street.
