John Edward Boehm

John E. Boehm, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Mayo Hospital in Bloomer.

John was born on August 17, 1937 to Ernest and Catherine (Gavin) Boehm. On April 11, 1959, John was united in marriage to Sharon Lund and she preceded him in death in 1981. On October 25, 1986, John was united in marriage to Maria Schley Knight. John worked as a mechanic at Erickson Motors in Bloomer and later opened his own business B & B Motors in New Auburn. John enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was never afraid to take things apart and put them back together. He loved any kind of music and even had his own band named “Johnny’s Family Affair” where all his family played and sang.

John is survived by his wife: Maria Boehm of New Auburn; children: Rebecca Miller of Missouri, Mary (Duane) Morgan of Texas, Angela (Scott) Bahe of Chippewa Falls, John A. “Tony” (Rachel) Boehm of Rice Lake, Matthew (Jane) Boehm of New Auburn, Danielle (Kevin) Metcalf of New Auburn and Sarah (Jon) Steves of Missouri; stepchildren: Rose (Robert) Samuelson of Hudson, John (Debbie) Knight of New Auburn, Karl Knight of Eau Claire and Barb (Leonard) Boehm of New Auburn; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and brothers: Don “Red” (Wanda) Boehm of Bloomer and Leonard (Barb) Boehm of New Auburn.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife: Sharon (Lund) Boehm; and daughter: Elizabeth Boehm.

A rosary will be recited at 4 PM on Sunday, March 26, 2023 at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with a visitation to follow. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 7 PM.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Noon on Monday, March 27, 2023 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer.  Interment will be at the North Catholic Cemetery in Bloomer.
