Jesse L. LaGesse

Jesse L. LaGesse, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Eau Claire, WI. He was born on April 20, 1939, to Edward and Elsie (Whitsell) LaGesse in Bloomer, WI. On January 6, 1962, Jesse was united in marriage to Sharon Faschingbauer at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer.

 Jesse worked for the City of Bloomer, in every department at one time or another. He was known as the guy who drove the purple Jeep. Jesse was a jack of all trades, loved to be busy and lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed spending time at the cabin, fixing and collecting toys, and volunteering at church. Jesse always said, “I have the best kids in the world.” He was so proud of his family and being around his family brought pure joy to his heart. 

 Jesse is survived by his wife of 62 years: Sharon LaGesse; 4 children: Shelly (Steve) Lewis of Bloomer, Lee “Butch” (Nancy) LaGesse of Bloomer, Ed (Theresa) LaGesse of Eau Claire and Tami (Russell) Baier of Eau Claire; 9 grandchildren: Bryan (Courtney) Lewis, Jessica (Adam) O’Brien, Spencer and Emily LaGesse, Joshua (Angela) LaGesse, Zakory (Courtney) LaGesse and Evalynn, Alaina and Dylan Baier; 8 great-grandchildren: Zach, Tessa, Gabby, Isaac, Lucas, Valerie, Jesse, and Gracelyn; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Elsie LaGesse; infant son; brothers: Clyde, Gerald, Wallace, Ed Jr. and James LaGesse; sisters: Darlene Stolt, Kathryn LaGesse, Janet Bowe and Charlotte Kern.

 Mass of a Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Bloomer with a visitation beginning at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday at the church.
