James John Cornelius

James J. Cornelius, age 85 passed away at Country Terrace in Bloomer on December 15, 2016. He lived at the Northern Center at Chippewa Falls before moving to the Omtvedt Farm in Sand Creek in 1963. He lived with the Omtvedts for over 40 years, helping on the farm. In later years he had his own house on the farm. He owned a snowmobile, a moped and a 4-wheeler and really enjoyed going up to Sand Creek and visiting the neighbors. He spent the next 12 years at Triple Spring Country Home in Downey and then at Country terrace in Bloomer under hospice care. James loved old-time music (especially polkas) and shaking dice. He was very proud to be a member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Sand Creek.

He is survived by one sister: Joyce Walters and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with a visitation from 10:00 until the time of service. Memorials may be directed to New Hope Lutheran Church or New Hope Lutheran Quilters.
