Hilman R. Wood

Hilman R. Wood, age 74, of Stanley, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Aspirus Medical Center in Medford, WI.

Hilman was born on March 4, 1951, to Donald and Janice (Moss) Wood. He attended Stanley-Boyd High School and graduated with the Class of 1969. Hilman worked at the Northern Colony Wisconsin Center, Packerland Packing Co. and Remington Salvage Yard but his most rewarding job was being a big brother to his siblings. He really enjoyed spending time with his family and helping others. He also loved his dogs, horses, hunting, fishing, country music, reading and watching Westerns, and luxury sport cars.

Hilman is survived by his brothers: Gene (Karla) Wood of Austin, TX and Donald Jr. (Rheame) Wood of Trego; sisters: Carol Kolpien of Stanley and Cathy Edmunds of Beloit; and sister-in-law: Sue Wood of Cable; and by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Donald and Janice Wood; sister: Charyl Wood; brother: Wendell Wood; brother-in-law: Daniel Edmonds; niece: Carrie Vitek; and nephews: Shaun and Jacob Vitek.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Noon, on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at the Sigel Town Hall, 5511 State Hwy 27 in Cadott, WI. Burial will be held at a later date at the New Auburn Cemetery.
