Hildegard T. "Hilda" Homann (Kunkel)

Hilda T. Homann, age 82, passed away to her heavenly home on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at her home in Bloomer. She was born March 23, 1935 in the Town of Eau Pleine, Stratford WI to August and Theresa (Mielke) Kunkel. Hilda began her education in a one room school and went on to graduate from Stratford High School. She then went on to get her teaching degree from Concordia Teacher’s College in River Forest IL. Her teaching career began at trinity Lutheran in Traverse City MI. She also taught at St. Paul Lutheran in Lake Mills WI. She retired as an Instructional Assistant from the Chippewa School District in 2011. She married Harley Homann on December 27, 1964 in the Town of McMillian, Marshfield WI. She enjoyed working in her flower and vegetable gardens, doing crafts, reading and baking cookies for her “kids”..

She is survived by four children: Danny (Stephanie) Homann of Colfax, Lisa (Keith) Anderson, Dennis (Staci) Homann and Linda (Patrick Grill) Homann all of Bloomer; eight grandchildren: Brandi (Jacob) Binder, Dakota, Courtney (Micah Wendt), Michael, & Levi Homann, Cody, Elisabeth and Jacob Anderson; one brother: Donald (Ida Mae) Kunkel of Stratford WI; one sister: Marjorie (Duane) Frahman of Marshfield WI.

She was preceded in death by husband: Harley; her parents: August and Theresa (Mielke) Kunkel; brothers: Frederick, Rudolph, Ernest (Doris), Leopold (Mae) and Edward Kunkel; one grandson: Charles Homann

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eagleton with a visitation from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the church. Interment will be in the Eagleton Cemetery. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family. Memorials to your favorite charity are preferred.
