Herbert “Herbie” Stolt, 82, of Rockford, died at 6:35 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2011, in Morning Star Village. He was born March 6, 1929, in Bloomer, WI, the son of Edward Julius and Mabel (Blomsten) Stolt. He was raised in New Auburn WI where he was a graduate of New Auburn High School. “Herbie” served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After moving to Rockford, he worked at Sundstrand as an inspector. He was a former member of the Baltic Lodge, Elida Lodge member, the Polish Falcons and LLL Club. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers fan. Herbie was a handyman, always working on something from cars to concrete, and always willing to help anyone.
He is survived by his children, Linda Stolt, Bradley Stolt, Kurt (Theresa) Stolt and Sheryl Stolt; grandchildren, Ashely (Michael) Pierce, Meghan (Bryan) Bearman, Katie, Kara, Kurtis and Lacey; great-grandchildren, Myah, Maci, Anthaney and Gio; siblings, Delores Huset, Viola Stolt, Marcella Bowe and Dale Stolt; mother of his children, Shirley Stolt. Predeceased by his sister, Shirley Hassemer. The family would like to thank his caregivers, Kim, Julia, Darlene, Autumn; Hospice Care of America, Melissa and Julie and the staff at Morning Star Village, Kristen, Megan, Lou and Louise.
Funeral service will be on Wednesday, Nov. 30 , 2011 at 11 A.M. at the Olson Funeral Home, 1516 Larson, Bloomer, Wisc. with a visitation from 10 AM until the time of service . Interment will be at the Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spooner, Wisc. Memorials may be directed to Wounded Warrior Project 4899 Belfort Rd. Suite 300 Jacksonville, FL 32256.
