Helmuth M. Lueck, age 93, passed away peacefully at his home in Bloomer surrounded by his family on March 18, 2015. He was born to Richard and Mathilda (Heidtke) Lueck on February 11, 1922 in Bloomer. Helmuth worked as a dairy farmer and as a “parts man” for Swoboda Implement. He married Virgie Ziebell in 1942, Lillian (Steinmetz) Valley in 1974 and Ruby Hinzman in 2009. He enjoyed dancing, woodworking, fishing and gardening; especially flowers and was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bloomer.
He is survived by his wife: Ruby; children: Arlene (Bill) Schmidt, Sandra (Dan) O’Connell, Patsy (Dennis) Culver, Gary (Susan) Lueck all of Bloomer; step children: Jerry (Maureen) Valley, Tim Valley, Michael Valley, Marilyn (John) Anderson and Linda (Daniel) O’Connell, Deborah (Terri) Rasmussen, Roxanne (Steve) Forehand and Roberta (Jeremy) Severson; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and numerous step grand and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Richard and Mathilda; wives: Virgie and Lillian; brothers: Delmar and Bernard Lueck; sister: Mildred Vaver
Funeral services will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bloomer on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 11:00 AM with a visitation from 4:00-7:00 PM at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer on Sunday. Interment will be in the Bloomer Cemetery following the service.
