Helen Hepfler

Helen O. Hepfler, age 86, passed away Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at Dove Health Care in Eau Claire. She was born June 5, 1922 in the Town of Woodmohr, Chippewa County WI, to Selmer & Elsa (Schlender) Erickson. She married Joseph J. Hepfler on July 2, 1949 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Eagleton. Helen spent her life as an elementary school teacher, first in a one room school house in Fall Creek, then in Eagleton and finally in Chippewa Falls. She was a member of Central Lutheran Church and Chippewa Valley Retired Teachers. She loved teaching, growing flowers, teaching Sunday School, cooking and spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter: Katie Jo Hepfler of Eau Claire; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents & her husband, Joseph.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at 1:00 PM at Central Lutheran Church in Chippewa Falls. Interment will be in the Scandinavian Cemetery, Chippewa County WI. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the church on Thursday.
