Gregory “Greg” Champion, age 62, passed away at home on Friday, October 4, 2024, after fighting a six year battle of metastatic prostate cancer.
Greg was born and raised in Rockford, Illinois. He attended East High School and went on to earn his Master’s degree in finance and marketing from UW-Whitewater. Greg was a Manufacturing Executive in Rockford, working for Mattison Machine Works, Barnes International, Hennig International, and retiring from Bourn & Koch International.
Greg is survived by his wife: Kristi, “the love of my life” for 35 years and their two sons: Seth and Alan Champion; mother: Sue Champion-Whitgrove; father: Terry (Judy) Champion; brother: Jeff (Kathy) Champion; and sister-in-law: Maria Callis.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Edith and Howard Haugen paternal grandparents: Elma and Henry Champion; and step brother: Joshua Callis.
