Gladys Peerson, 80, of Ellenton, Fla., formally of the Holcombe-Cornell area, died peacefully Monday, Feb. 15, 2010 at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Fla., from heart failure.
Gladys’ favorite pastime was playing cards. She enjoyed fishing and caring for her flower gardens. In recent years she loved going to the beaches to collect shells. Gladys created beautiful, one-of-a-kind crafts from the shells she found.
She is survived by: three daughters, Carol (Bob) Olson of Parrish, Fla., LuAnne (Dean) Jacobson of Chippewa Falls and Cindy (Terry) Helland of Chippewa Falls; four sons, Greg Calkins of Stanley, Mike (Luella) Calkins of Eau Claire, Steve (Angie) Calkins of Stanley and Keith Peerson of New Auburn; four sisters, Lucy, Margaret, Lorna and Lorraine; six brothers, Wally, Tuff, Roland, Don, Dan and Alfred; also many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson, Nickolai, born to Carol’s grandson Tommy and Rachael of Minnesota.
Gladys was preceded in death by: her parents; one infant son; two brothers, Bill and Jack; and identical twin sister, Glennis.
There will be a gathering of family and friends, a memorial service and burial of cremains at the New Auburn Cemetery on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at 1:00 PM
Gladys will be happily remembered and sadly missed by all.
