George F. Clements Sr.

George F. Clements Sr., age 74, passed away at the his home with his family by his side on December 8, 2024 after a short battle with cancer. He was born on August 25, 1950 in Chippewa Falls to John and Rosemary (Stoffel) Clements. George married Vernetta Nelson on August 30, 1969, in Cooks Valley. He worked at Nelson Filter in Bloomer and on the family farm. George loved his morning coffee with family and friends. He also enjoyed to cut wood, ride around on his four-wheeler or golf cart, watch TV-especially the Packers and just be at home with his family.

George is survived by his children: Brian Clements, Kevin (Stacey) Clements, and Stacy (Matt) McManus all of Bloomer, brothers: David, Mark (Carol) and John (Dawn) Clements; sister: Kathryn (Rich) Loftus; six grandchildren: Austin (Lily) Durch, Autumn and Bristol Clements, Blake, Drew and Lane Clements, Georgia and Joelle McManus; great-grandchildren: Ryder and Cove Durch; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

He is preceded in death by his parents: John and Rosemary; wife: Vernetta; son: Georgie; granddaughter: Shelby.

A celebration of George’s life will be held from 3:00-7:00 PM on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Valley Tavern in Cooks Valley with a prayer and dinner served at 5:00 PM. Burial will be in at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Cooks Valley at a later date. A special thanks Mayo Clinic Hospice for all their care and everyone who offered prayers and support to George’s family over the past few months.
