Genevieve Pederson

Genevieve C. Pederson, age 91, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at the Atrium Acute Care for Seniors in Bloomer. She was born April 23, 1927 in Milton Junction WI. to Jens and Martha (Christianson) Everson. She married Loyal Peterson on October 24, 1946 in Milton Junction. In 1950, they moved to New Auburn and farmed together for many years. Genny was very involved in her community. She was a life-long member of the Seventh Day Baptist (Community Freedom) Church in New Auburn and a 4-H leader in Barron County for 45 years. Being a member of the New Auburn Community choir resulted in many new friends in Genny’s life. Beginning in 1962, Genny and Loyal welcomed numerous foster children into their home, nurturing them and giving them a stable life experience.

She is survived by her sons: Duane (Lois), Dennis (Debbie), Martin (Jill); daughters: Connie (David) North, Christine (Ron) Davis, Marita (Scott) Shipman; 15 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces nephews other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Jens and Martha; husband: Loyal; brothers: Arthur and Norman Everson; sisters: Evelyn Arnold, Dorothy Beran and Esther Smith

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018 at 2:00 PM at St Jude’s Church in New Auburn with interment in the Village Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 12:00 PM until the time of service at St. Jude’s. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family.
