Frances M. Donahue, age 100, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Meadowbrook in Bloomer. She was born June 13, 1920 in the Town of Sampson, Chippewa County to Herbert and Adeline (Plante) Cole. She married Dan Donahue on August 20, 1942 at the United Brethren Parsonage in Bloomer. Frances kept very busy raising her family while working on the farm. She was a member of the New Auburn United Methodist Church, the Bloomer Senior Citizen’s Center, and served as president of both the Ladies Benefit Club and the New Auburn Legion Auxiliary. In her free time she enjoyed crocheting, watching ball games, playing cards and bingo, but especially spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by one daughter: Laurie Donahue of Bloomer; two brothers: Wesley and Stephen Cole; two sisters: Donna Bergeron and Joyce Nelson; 3 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren, 2 step-great grandchildren..
She was preceded in death by her parents: Herbert and Adeline Cole; husband: Dan; daughter: Dianne Urban; brothers: James and Kenneth Cole; sister: Betty Worthington; grandson: David Urban.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with a visitation from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Please follow CDC guidelines. A Committal Service will be at the Tillinghast Cemetery on June 13, 2021 at 12:30 PM followed by a Celebration of Life at 1:30 PM at the 9th Ave Park in Bloomer.
