FloyAnn Lofthus was born on September 17th, 1945 in Barron County, WI to Harvey and Verna Knowlton . She was baptized on December 21st,1945 at home. FloyAnn attended Kindergarten through 8th grade in Sand Creek. She was confirmed on April 10th 1960 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, and graduated from Chetek High School on May 20th, 1963. She received an engagement ring for a graduation gift and was married to Barry Lofthus on March 21st, 1964. They shared 49 years of marriage until Barry’s passing on December 1st, 2013.
Together they spent two years on the Bitney Farm on Highway 64, then purchased the current family farm April 1st, 1965. FloyAnn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She and Barry ran a dairy farm, trucking companies and purchased equipment of all sorts. As Barry “invested” their money into all of these businesses, FloyAnn tried her best to keep the books balanced and definitely lost some sleep in the process. She loved to play cards, read, and feed her birds. Her flower garden was her pride and joy in the last few years of her life despite the pesky raccoons that enjoyed destroying it. She lived a great life and loved spending time with her family more than anything.
FloyAnn was called home on the morning of December 3rd, 2020 and into the arms of Jesus and Barry.
She is survived by three sons, Richard (Kathryn) Lofthus of Bloomer, Paul (Jody) Lofthus of New Auburn, and Eric Lofthus of New Auburn; one daughter, Wendy (Chad) Lauterbach of New Auburn; Grandchildren: Jessica (John), Bo, Noel, Isaac, Shelby, Kendra, Kylee (Zach), Dalton, Michael, Samantha, Alexandra(Nate), and Zachariah; Great-Grandchildren: Elle, Mason, Paige, Mack, Dakota, Cora, Savannah, Quinten, Iris, Isaac and Samuel; Three foreign exchange students: Espen Grindhaug, Dafina Nepola, and Kyrian (Paiva) Welfare; Numerous other relatives and friends.
