Eugene “Carsten” Brodersen age 83, passed away at his home in Chetek on Tuesday, November 6, 2018. He was born on November 10, 1934 in Arlington WA to Henry and Rose (Kraetz) Brodersen. Carsten married Kathy Rathert on June 18, 1958 in Arlington, WA and together they purchased a farm in Oso, Washington. He loved working with animals and took great pride in farming. He retired from dairy farming in the 1990s and started a trucking business. When they moved to Wisconsin, they purchased a small crop farm in Chetek and continued farming and trucking. Carsten enjoyed fixing up trucks in his spare time. He drove to truck shows around the country with Kathy.
He is survived by his children: Jeffery Brodersen and Tammy (Glenn Chapple) Brodersen both of Seattle; brothers: Bill, Donald and Roger; sister: Rosemary.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Henry and Rose; his wife: Kathy; brothers: Ralph and Laurence; sister: Louise.
A memorial for Carsten will be held at the New Auburn Congregation of Jehovah’s Witness located at 20232 80th St. Bloomer Sunday, November 25, 2018 at 3:30 PM. with a luncheon to follow at the Bloomer Senior Center located at 2121 Duncan Rd.
