Eileen M. Ludwigson, age 91, passed away Monday. February 14, 2022 at Care Partners Assisted Living in Bloomer. She was born May 21, 1930 in Bloomer WI to Eivind and Anna (Helgeson) Sherman. She married LaVerne Ludwigson on June 10, 1950 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. Eileen worked at the Bloomer Telephone Company from 1947 – 1951 before becoming a “domestic engineer”. She also worked with her husband, LaVerne, on the farm from 1955 – 1978, including managing the egg operation of 17,000 caged laying hens. She was a lifetime member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer and volunteered at The Maple Wood for many years. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, an occasional trip to the casino, and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by two sons: Allan (Paula) Ludwigson of South Carolina and Dale Ludwigson of Chippewa Falls; one daughter: Barbara (Tom) Anderson of Eau Claire; four grandchildren: Jennifer (Tim) Rudawski of Rhinelander, Steven (Ashley Hawk) Anderson of Madison, Ann Urbik of Hudson & Nicholas Ludwigson of New Richmond; one step-granddaughter: Sydney McKechnie of Charlotte NC ; 5 great-grandchildren: Julian & Payton Rudawski of Rhinelander and Ethan, Nora and Julia Urbik of Hudson; many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by parents: Eivind and Anna; husband: LaVerne.
Funeral services will be held on Friday February 25, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church with a visitation 2 hours prior to the service at the church.
