Duane R. Stewart, age 71, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022 at Shell Lake Health Care in Shell Lake, Wisconsin. He was born February 9, 1951 in Bloomer to Delbert and Wanda (Pietz) Stewart. He graduated from Bloomer High School in 1969 and attended Chippewa technical college to become an electrician. Duane married Kerry Stickney on September 9, 1972 and together they raised two daughters. Duane worked for Wolf Electric in Bloomer for many years and later started his own business, Stewart Electric. On July 4, 2001 he suffered a frontal lobe brain aneurysm, leaving him unable to continue his electric business. Duane was a big sports fan, especially the Packers and Wisconsin Badgers. He was a family man who taught his girls many things including how to fish and wire an outlet. He enjoyed hunting, spending time at the cabin he built and being around his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters: Dawn (Nick) Bowden of Bloomer and Heather (Michael) Russ of Maple Grove MN; grandchildren: McKenzie, Kaylie and Kayden Bowden, Madelyn Russ; sisters: Sandra (Edwin) Metcalf and Shelley Swoboda; brothers: Kent (Yvonne) Stewart and Jay (Brenda) Stewart; ex-wife: Kerry; numerous nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Delbert and Wanda; infant daughter: Christie; infant brother: Mark; brother-in-law: Francis Swoboda.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at 2:00 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Bloomer with a visitation one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Auburn Cemetery.
