Dr. Paul E. Lanzer Jr., age 85, passed away at his home in Bloomer on Friday, May 10, 2013. He was born on February 15, 1928 in Bloomer to Paul and Olga (Nordholm) Lanzer. Paul proudly served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He married Joyce Hoyland on December 22, 1949 in Sand Creek. He followed in his father’s footsteps and became a successful dentist in the Bloomer community. He was a member of the Bloomer American Legion, the ADA, WDA, GVI, and St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. He enjoyed baseball, softball, bowling, golfing, hunting, fishing and bird dogs.
He is survived by his sons: Paul (Pam) Lanzer, Edward (Lori) Lanzer, and David Lanzer; daughter: Tammy (Rod) Zwiefelhofer; brother-in-law: Barry Hoyland; son-in-law: Ed Wittcrock; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren
He is preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Olga; wife: Joyce; daughter: Julie Wittrock; one infant brother.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, May 13, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. There will be a visitation from 5:00-8:00 PM on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer.
