Donald F. Turner, age 80, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at MCHS Bloomer. He was born on January 7, 1935 in Bloomer to Albert and Anna (Meisner) Turner. After graduating from Bloomer High School in 1953, Donald was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood Missouri and Fort Bragg South Carolina. He was a crane operator who set up missiles for the first armored division of the US Army. He had top secret clearance with the FBI so he could ferry dignitaries to Eglin Island where they shot off and tested tank mounted missiles. He married Janice Kressin on August 20, 1960 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer. He was Co-owner/operator of Turner Milk Haulers and Owner/Operator of Don’s Pump Service. Donald loved to be out in the woods, gardening and helping his family on countless projects.
He is survived by his wife: Janice Turner of Bloomer; two daughters: Debbie (Jerry) Gillette and Beth (Bill) Poirier both of Bloomer; sister in-law: Janice Turner; nephew: John (Teresa) Turner; niece: Laura Franta.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Albert and Anna Turner and brother: Kenneth Turner.
A service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church on Monday September 21, 2015 at 10:30 AM. There will be a visitation from 3:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. Interment will be in the Turner Cemetery at a later date.
