Donald Steinmetz

Donald L. Steinmetz, age 89, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 10, 2023.  He was born on February 14,1933 in Tilden to Arnold “Steve” and Erna (Prill) Steinmetz.  Don married Karen Huset on May 26, 1960 in Bloomer.  Don was an assistant manager at Mid-Am Dairy and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer.  Don was an outdoor enthusiast, enjoying hunting, fishing, ice fishing and doing yardwork. He was very athletic, playing softball, bowling, golfing and baseball, as well as being a super fan, watching the Packers and any sport his children and grandchildren participated in.  Don loved being around people and sharing stories along with a cold beer at the local tavern.

He is survived by his wife: Karen of Bloomer; children: Tim (Jodine) Steinmetz of Bloomer, Shelli (Jeff) Rogge of Bloomer, Kelly (Kirsta) Steinmetz of Conway NH and Terry Steinmetz of Bloomer; 6 grandchildren; sisters: Joyce (Rolland) Hart and Jeanette Alisauskas all of Kenosha;  numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Don was preceded in death by his parents: Steve and Erna; granddaughter: Kristen Rogge; brothers: Neil and Vernon Steinmetz.

Funeral Services will be held at Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer on Sunday January 15, 2023 at 2:00 PM with a visitation from 12:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home on Sunday. Online Condolences may be expressed at olsonfunerealhomebloomer.com
