Donald Schmock

Donald A. Schmock, age 91, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011 at Hetzel Care Center in Bloomer. He was born July 3, 1920 in Bloomer to William and Barbara (Spaeth) Schmock. He married Elenere Donaldson on July 17, 1945 in Bloomer.
Donald worked as a dairy farmer and enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, watching the Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers.

He is survived by his wife: Elenere of Bloomer; one son: Daniel (Wendy) Schmock of Eau Claire; three daughters: Patricia (James) Stolen of Wausau, Gloria (Joel) Vettrus of Bloomer, Janet (Tom) Zwiefelhofer of Bloomer; nine grandchildren: Craig (Kira) Stolen of New Brighton MN, Derek (Stephanie Schroeder) Stolen of Girdwood AK, Christian (Jen) Vettrus of Milwaukee; Jodi (Kyle) Hunter of Waconia MN, Erica (Ryan) Champlin of LaCrosse WI, Nicholas (Carling Caiati) Schmock of Milwaukee, Bradley Schmock of Thailand, Tara (Ben) Leiby of Dorchester WI, Cale Zwiefelhofer of Chippewa Falls; four great-grandchildren: Kaisa and Siri Stolen, Avery Hunter and Christopher Champlin.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Edgar and Leonard; sisters: Ione Ross and Barbara Jean Hoefs.


Funeral Services will be held at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Bruce Rimmereid officiating. There will be a visitation at the funeral home from 12:00-2:00 PM on Saturday
