David William Snippen, age 72, died peacefully at his home in Bloomer on Thursday, May 27, 2021, due to heart and COPD complications. He was born on January 15, 1949, in Sparta WI to Donald and Jeanne (Kastens) Snippen, the fourth of nine children. He was a 1967 graduate of Ondossagon High School in Ashland and attended UW-Superior. David married Myra Radosevich on May 27, 1972, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Benoit WI. He was able to have lunch on his 49th Wedding Anniversary with close friends Chuck and Karen Zabrowski and Jim and Vicki Volz.
David worked as a carpenter for most of his life and retired from Great Northern Corporation in Chippewa Falls. He enjoyed deer hunting in the great north woods (Hungry Hill Camp/Washburn), ATV riding, fishing, especially Lake Superior, and building and flying radio control airplanes. Family was very important to him and he loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife: Myra; daughters: Jodi (Kris) Swartz and Kayla Snippen; grandchildren: Ava, Elsa and Ashton Swartz; sisters: Patricia (Gary) Gilles, Kathy (Bob) Marincel, and Babs (Paul) Ratliff; brothers: Duane, Robert (Diana), Randy (Marge); brother-in-law: Greg Persing; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Don (2007) and Jeanne (1987); brother: Dennis (2002); sister: Diane Persing (2017); sister-in-law: Daniella Snippen (2015); father and mother-in-law: Tony (1985) and Pauline (1980) Radosevch; brother-in-law: Tracy Radosevich (2012).
