Cora Quimby, age 96, passed away at Atrium Health Care in Bloomer on Saturday, February 23, 2017. She was born on July 23, 1920, in Catawba Island in Ohio to Arthur and Estra (Rofkar) Knudson. Cora worked as a fine jewelry sales clerk in Toledo, Ohio, and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, WELCA, Hope Circle and numerous card clubs. Cora said her greatest pleasure in life was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, and winning golf trophies.
She is survived by her daughters: Jacquelyn Huget and Candace (David) Bland, grandchildren Brian (Denise) Huget, Sean (Laura Lainhoff) Martin and Kim (Brian) Bradley; great-grandchildren: Alexandra (Julio) Marin, Jacob Lonnee, and Liam Bradley. step-great-grandson: Ian
She is preceded in death by her parents; twin children: David and Linda Quimby, grandchildren: Heather Lonnee and Jeremy Casey; son-in law: Ralph Huget
A memorial service will be held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer on Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at 11:00 AM with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer is assisting the family.
