Clesson S. Stewart, age 89, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2009 at Country Terrace in Bloomer. He was born July 11, 1919 in Dunn County to Selah & Elva (Eighmy) Stewart. He married Esther Prochnow on October 19, 1946 at Tainter Church in near Colfax. Clesson served in the US Army during WWII. He worked as a milk hauler, Chippewa Coop Dairy for 20 years and also owned and operated the Gambles Store in Bloomer. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, hunting, camping, traveling, woodcarving, playing cribbage and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by one sons: Danny (Jacky) Stewart of Fall Creek; three daughters: Peggy Stoffel, Diane (Larry) Seibel & Vicki (Steve) Baier, all of Bloomer; two brothers: Tom (Betty) Stewart & Leonard (Helen) Stewart, both of Colorado; one sister: Phyllis Poquette of Ladysmith; four sisters in law: Martha Stewart of Menomonie, Joyce Prochnow of Menomonie, Marie Stewart of Eau Claire & Doris Stewart of Ladysmith; 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Esther; four brothers: Bill, Richard, Whitey & infant, David; one granddaughter: Jamie Lynn Baier.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 20, 2009 at 2:00 PM at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer with David W. Olson officiating. Interment of cremains will be in the Scandinavian Cemetery in the spring. Friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of service on Friday at the Olson Funeral Home in Bloomer. There will be no visitation Thursday evening.
